ExcuseBot is a joke website that shows you pre-written excuses. This page says plainly what it collects and what it does not.
What the site does not collect
There are no accounts and no sign-in. The excuse you are shown, the situation you picked, and the question you answered are never sent anywhere — the whole corpus is loaded into your browser and the selection happens there. Nothing you do with the tool itself is recorded, transmitted, or stored.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and understand which pages people use. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects standard information including your approximate location (derived from your IP address), your device and browser type, the pages you view, and the site that referred you. That data goes to Google and is subject to Google's privacy policy.
You can opt out for every site using Google's browser add-on, or by blocking cookies for this site.
Advertising
This site may display advertising. Ad providers and their partners may set their own cookies and use them to show ads based on your visits here and to other sites. Any ad network used here will be named on this page before it goes live.

The cookies on this site come from the third parties above — analytics and, where present, advertising. ExcuseBot itself sets no cookies of its own.

What we measure
Analytics events record which situation you picked, which follow-up answer you chose, whether you copied an excuse, and what you typed into the search box. Search terms tell us which excuses are missing. We do not collect free text about your circumstances, and there is nowhere on this site to write any.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings without breaking the site — the excuse generator works fine with everything blocked. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or delete data held about you; for the analytics and advertising data, those requests go to the provider rather than to us, since we hold no database of our own.
Changes
If what is collected changes, this page changes with it.
